There has been a rapid rise in the use of fresh culinary herbs in recent years. Food trends such as Clean Eating and Root to Shoot encourage consumers to get rid of the added salt, sugar and fat, and consider adding herbs for flavour and health benefits.
It is BBQ season and all over Europe people are firing up their “outdoor kitchens” to create amazing dishes that can be cooked outside. It is the time of year where, whenever you take a walk, you are met with so many delicious smells that you feel hungry all the time!
Lettuce is available in lots of different varieties and is either crisp or some varieties can be more floppy. Most lettuces have bright green leaves, some having with darker red highlights. All lettuces tend to have a soft, delicate and clean taste.
Fiona Coulson is founder and owner of Lamorna Flowers in Kenya. Along with her husband Billy, she also owns Nini, and both farms form part of the Nini Flowers group. It is always fascinating to hear directly from the farms and so we spoke to Fiona about how to grow and maintain quality roses.
